You will:
- Proactively take ownership of all of ch-aviation’s products
- Take product ideas from senior management or external customers and put them into action including building and managing the product road map
- Know how to make build, buy, or partner decisions
- Manage business analysis from an IT perspective, UI/UX design, web development, QA/UAT including HR responsibility for the existing team of 5.5 FTEs growing it to 10+ FTEs in 2022
- Run design reviews with internal and external stakeholders in early stages of software development projects
- Perform code reviews, establish standards and processes, and train your team on those standards, ensuring their projects are following those standards
- Being ultimately accountable for the success of all the projects your team manages
- Work with sales on sales engineering projects to provide sample/actual data and effort estimates to ch-aviation prospects or customers
- Be included in devising and implementing the general IT strategy and budget (everything from mouses to hosting and software architecture)
- Be able to manage external IT vendors (hardware, software, agencies to source software developers or UX/UI designers, SaaS tools)
- Drive ch-aviation’s sourcing/recruitment strategy and budget for all resources involved in the software development lifecycle
You have:
- 10+ years of backend and frontend web development experience (preferably also 2 years in a VP, CTO, or similar leadership role)
- Some production-level PHP experience (and experience in languages like Java, Rust, TypeScript is a plus)
- Given our data heaviness, experience with large/complex SQL databases would be great
- Real-world experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment pipelines
- Experience managing test driven development
- Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy
- Understand budgets and business planning
- Aviation and/or SaaS experience is a great plus
